City Lights Budapest: the first thought was if I would be able to create a website by myself. The second was, what should be the theme of it? Based on the fact, that my passion is photography, I decided to show the city where I live: Budapest. I want to do this not only in bright colours, but also in gray scales. You know, the absence of light doesn't means, that there is no light... Even if the main focus is on Budapest - this site will not be fixed on one city or one person, so you can find here photos, paintings, views and impressions of artists and cities around the world as well. In addition there are recommendations of hotels, restaurants, cultural events, some poems etc. There is also a page with theme related links: cities and their lights are the guidelines for it. If you want to contact me to make suggestions or to comment the site, so please feel free to go in touch with me.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is at first glance a big city like others - a big city with bright lights and with dark shadows, day and night lively and bustling. As the largest city of Hungary, it serves as the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial and transportation center and is considered an important hub in Central Europe. Budapest was the focal point of the Freedom Fight of 1848, Operation Panzerfaust in 1944, the Battle of Budapest of 1945, and the Revolution of 1956 against the soviet occupation. In 2008, Budapest had 1,702,297 inhabitants with an official agglomeration of 2,451,418 within the city limits. However, there are not many cities, where the past, the present and the future are so close together. But from all over there is always to feel this special kind of breath from the past, a sound from far away, a wave from passed epochs.
